The “Don’t Buy Into Occupation” (DBIO) coalition is composed of 28 European and Palestinian civil society organizations. In a detailed report, it denounces the financial links between European financial institutions and companies involved in the Israeli colonization of the occupied Palestinian territory. The French group BNP Paribas is the main European financier complicit in this colonization.

Despite its commitment to respect internationally recognized human rights standards, BNP Paribas continues to contribute significantly to the financing of 33 companies directly involved in the Israeli colonization of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. BNP Paribas must divest from these companies and henceforth renounce such investments.

On December 15, the DBIO coalition launched a call to action “BNP Paribas must divest from Israeli settlements”. At the call of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), the League of Human Rights (LDH), the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), the Union syndicale Solidaires, the French Plateforme des ONG pour la Palestine and the Association France Palestine Solidarité (AFPS), several rallies took place in France on December 15, 2021 to ask BNP Paribas to divest from Israeli colonization.

An action of information and advocacy through the distribution of leaflets was organized by about twenty activists in front of the buildings of the headquarters of BNP Investissement, boulevard des Italiens, in Paris. Activists were also present in front of two branches of BNP Paribas in Montpellier, two branches of BNP Paribas in Nantes, and a branch of BNP Paribas in Bourg-en-Bresse.
