It is with heavy heart that we learned yesterday of the death of our dear friend and founding father of our network, Eamon McMahon. Eamon was a giant of solidarity work, comradeship and unionism. Pure, honest person with beautiful soul, always struggling for a more just and better world for everyone.

He was a co-founder and beating heart of the ICTU Trade Union Friends of Palestine, a founder of the Ireland Palestine Mental Health Network, a member of the IPSC’s Belfast branch, and a lifelong trade unionist and social justice activist. His dedication for justice in Palestine, endless optimism and ideas made it possible to create first of its sort network of European trade unions in solidarity with Palestine.

We send love and strength to his children, his family and many friends.

Eamon, you will be always in our hearts and your legacy will live in our actions.

We’ll miss you dearly.

Rest in Power dear Friend, we’ll never forget you.
